Filling the Recruitment Pipeline through Experiential Education:
Work-Based Learning as a Workforce Development Strategy A low unemployment rate, statewide workforce shortages and an aging population with a looming retirement “bubble” is necessitating new government, education and employer partnerships to help pave the way for new and innovative solutions to our job seeker supply and demand problems. Beth will discuss utilizing several work-based learning
strategies: Job Shadowing, Pre-Apprenticeship, Paid Internships, Registered Apprenticeships and Customized Training to enable your organization to attract, develop and retain talent to fill your workforce needs.
Beth’s professional background includes more than 15 years of progressive and diverse involvement in accounting, fund-raising, grant management and human resource management in the non-profit arena. In 2015, the opportunity to work for the state of Montana, assisting employers with recruitment and retention strategies, was too great to pass up. Professionally, Beth is driven by an intrinsic need to help make her community thrive. While working in the non-profit sector provided this, working in the public sector has increased her community from just Great Falls to the entire state. Beth has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management/Finance from Park University, an Associate’s Degree in Accounting and Associate’s Degree in Business Management/Entrepreneurship from Great Falls College.
Beth serves on several boards, councils and committees in the community—Habitat for Humanity’s Selection Committee, Great Falls Community Development Council, Benefis’ NICU Family Advisory Council and is the current Certification Chair for the local SHRM Chapter. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time camping with her family and close friends.
